After his playing career, his passion for hockey remained strong, inspiring him to transition directly into coaching. With more than 10 years of experience at the youth level, he focuses on building strong fundamental skills through positive reinforcement. He specializes in developing confidence through efficient skating, smart decision-making, and consistent skill progression. Matt’s coaching approach emphasizes fun, discipline, and empowering players to reach their full potential—both on and off the ice. Over the years, Coach Matt has learned to connect with players individually, designing challenging, engaging practices that promote continuous learning. His coaching philosophy is rooted in supporting each player’s unique development, creating an environment that is fun, demanding, and grounded in strong fundamentals and tactical awareness.
